CA Org Chart

So as CouchAthletics.com keeps growing, and more and more users keep getting involved, we've decided that an organizational chart was in order. So I've taken it on as a small project that I could do.

The end idea is to have it integrate with the Drupal content management system that the website is using. For the mean time, to get the code down working, and rendering properly, I've been working in a stand alone mode.

RAID 0

So a couple weeks ago one of my harddrives came up with a S.M.A.R.T. error, which ment that I should be looking into backing up the device data and replace the unit. I did so, but while at it I figured an upgrade might be in order as well.

I am fairly lucky in that my motherboard had an onboard RAID controller which let me do either RAID 0, 1, 0+1, or RAID 5. I ended up getting two Western Digital Raptor Drives, and rebuilt the system into a RAID 0 array.

OpenOffice Project

The first task we were assigned at Elections Canada was to come up with a way to get OpenOffice 3.1 running in a terminal service on a per-existing server image.

We needed to come up with a proof of concept, as well as backing research showcasing how this would be done. The results surprised even us as to how well, and easily OpenOffice melted itself to the environment.

Elections Canada

So this summer I have been working for Elections Canada, working on the open source Development project. There have been many different tasks that we have been assigned to do; and I will be posting them on this website, as well as updates as they happen.

RSS Feed

The RSS Feed for this website has been configured, and should be working properly. This was the first time I added RSS into a website, and let's hope it keeps working. =)

CouchAthletics.com MOTD Banner

So after several attempts, I've managed to get a proper message of the Day banner working for the gaming servers for CouchAthletics.com.

Using a combinations of tables, CSS and javascript I managed to get a page that fits perfectly into a set area. No scrollbars, and renders perfectly for everything from 1024x768 pixel resolution. and up.
